Hey guys, I was wondering if it would be possible to improve my SAT score of 2130 to 2260 within a month. Of course I have the whole summer, but, considering my summer school classes, I'll probably have very little time to study. I also get distracted ALOT and I was pretty suprised when I got a 2130 because on practice tests, I always got ~2090. So, please enlighten me on some of your success stories and what you did to improve your SAT score. Thanks guys! :p

that is not aHUGE increase. i think it is possible if you apply yourself.

Oh yeah, I just took it once in October of my junior year... my psat score of 203 scared me from taking it again

That is very doable. Just go through the BB practice tests and if you review your mistakes carefully your score should gradually go up. I had a 223 PSAT and studied for the SAT for about a month (8 BB tests), and I'm expecting something along the lines of 2320-2360 when scores come out April 7.

Sure. 10char

I got a 2080 the first time I took the SAT (198/210 on PSAT). I am waiting for my April 7th scores. I know I broke 2100 - at least, I better have. I studied for weeks. That's only 20 points! I felt really confident, though, so I'm hoping for 2150 or so.

That's definitely doable. For more practice tests, look here: SAT General | Practice

Under item 2, there's links to 2 QAS tests available at Collegeboard. You can also check out the other sections of the site for help.

If you want to talk about it more, shoot me a PM and we can discuss what your strengths/weaknesses are and lay out a plan of study.

You haven't provided your individual component scores which would have allowed us to give you more specific advice.

i got 2260 on the real test after scoring in the 2100-2230 range over the summer. it's easier for me because when i take the real one, i just go "omg this is the real one" and i just focus like no other... except for the fact that i spilled a water bottle by kicking it with my feet while i was testing and i lost time. it was during a math section though and i got 800 on that so i guess it was ok...im ranting aren't i lol anyways, just make sure you practice while concentrating during the whole test. yes, all 3.5 hours of it. it's the best way to practice.

i jumped up 180 in a month. its definitely do-able.

Of course. It's very doable!

I scored a 2090 the first and improved 200+ points within a month, and I didn't take any classes or do more practice (I had pretty much used up all the practice tests and problems I could get my hands on already). It also depends on what sections you're struggling with and the state of mind during the test (which was the case for me).
My first test I was so stressed I had a headache from grinding my teeth (a terrible habit of mine). The second test I was so relaxed it was ridiculous in retrospect, but my concentration was amazingly strong and precise because I didn't worry about how I would score, or even the future problems or sections.

Good luck!

^ I agree. I raised my score from a 2200 to a 2330 in around 1.5 months. It’s really not that hard.

I just got “12 Real SATs” and did one every weekend day, since I didn’t really have anything to do on the weekend. If you just apply yourself, it’s not that difficult to get an increase. :D

Wow, i was looking back at my old threads and I didn’t realize how close I was to my prediction. I ended up with a 2270. ;D

If I’m focused, how long for a 2040 to go to a 2300+?
One summer, even with other stuff going on?

I believe (maybe incorrectly) that SAT scores correlate to intelligence. It simply isn’t possible for everyone in this world to get a 2300+ because the SAT tests reasoning ability - not just memorization. How much effort will it take to jump to a 2300+? It may not be possible.

I went from 2130 - 2280. Should’ve gone 2300+ but, hey. It’s possible!
