From a 34 to a 35/36

Hi all. I don't want to bore you with the details, but I got a 34 on the October ACT last year. I'm taking the June ACT because I didn't take writing with the 34. Since I have to take it anyway, I am studying hard to get a 35 or a 36. I need some advice on how to properly study. In the offical ACT released by the ACT, I got a 35. ALL of my mistakes were from silly mistakes. I am thinking that I shouldn't waste time studying the grammar sections and should do the following instead.

Take every practice test in sight (about 20)

After taking each test, I should learn from the wrong answers.

After I have taken all tests, I should repeat all these steps.

I'v read that this is good as it gets you in the ACT mindset, but I want your opinion. Thanks.

Steps 1 - 3 sound good to me. The reason more students don’t follow such steps is that they require time and commitment.

Why did you make the silly mistakes? Was it a lapse in concentration? That’s the only possible weakness I see here. Regardless, it seems like you are on your way to a great score.

Thank you. I really appreciate your feedback. I think it’s partially mindset. I’m sorta like “hey this ain’t the real thing, so I don’t need to be so carefull”. However, that happens on an unconscious level.
