I'm planning on transferring to Texas as undeclared for summer 09.
After a semester at UT, I plan to do an internal transfer to Communications.

By the end of this semester, I will have a 3.5
And after the spring semester, I will have a 3.64
If everything goes as planned of course (getting all As)

I have two Cs in my transcript.
One for Microeconomics and one for US Government, which I took during HS.
Bad idea.

I took AP Spanish tests in HS and just recently turned in my scores to ACC.
I will be getting credit for SPA I, II and III. I'm currently taking SPA IV.

So by the time I'm done at ACC, I will have 48-50 credits.

My ECs are awful.
I did some volunteer work during hurricane Katrina and for Inside Books Project.
That's about it.

At ACC, I heard about Phi Theta Kappa.
I plan on joining it next semester.

My Resume is decent, I think.
Most of the jobs I have had are tech-related (computer repair, server maintenance and database management) and some involve working for my dad.

Lately, I've been repairing XBOX 360s, but I don't think that counts :P

Do you think I will get in if I end up with a 3.64, get more involved (volunteer, etc) and write two great essays?

haha man i am in the same boat as you. i go to a different community college but i plan on going to UT in fall of 2009. I will have about same credit as you with exact GPA as you if i get all A's. lol but I want to get into mccombs business school but i can't externally so once i get into UT i will have to try internally. but yea i e-mailed the counsolar and he said that average is 3.5 for Liberal Arts.

are you SURE they look at your high school scores? I thought if you had 30 hours after your freshman year, your high school grades are not considered. correct me if i'm wrong, please.

Ooops, I meant to say that I took US Government at ACC while I was in HS.
I took Microeconomics during my first semester at ACC (after graduaiting HS).

The minimum amount of credits for UT is 30 hours.
And yes, your HS grades don't matter when you are a transfer student.
I'm glad SAT/ACT scores don't matter either. I can see UT changing that as admission gets more competitive...but maybe not.
