from an international

hi,everyone. Just curious, is it possible for international student to receive financial aid in Cal (maybe not during freshman year)? If yes, how much in average? thanks!

it's so hard for int'l to get aid in the states. i don't think the UCs give aid to int'ls.

If you receive a Regents' Scholarship, you do receive financial aid, regardless of whether you're international or not.
I know that the Berkeley International Office has financial aid for internationals. You can find more information about that here: Financial Aid

First-year international student here.

Yes, financial aid is available to international students, although not in the first year and generally limited. The amount depends on GPA, financial need, and work study hours. I have no idea how much I will get, but I've heard that people usually get up to $6000 per year. Not a lot compared to US students, but a big help if you're financing your Berkeley education by yourself (like me).

Hey Orochi.....I have a question for you regarding financial aid for int'l

Do you happen to know what kind of financial aid you get at UCLA??
I know this might sound stupid but I didn't get into Berkeley so please help me out if you know it! thanks

Internationals are ruled out from Cal finaid because we can't fill out the FAFSA.

Can I still apply to work-study grants now that I got in (i'm int'l)?

mmmmwu: Sorry I don't know about UCLA's program. You can find information on their website, though.

how do they determine need for the regent's scholarship for internationals? Do we fill out a a financial aid form? Should we do that ASAP, before admission decisons?
