From bottom to top (GPA)

Hi, i just have a question regarding my gpa.

My freshman year, i just didn't care about studying nor had a dream so my average was a 79 out of a 100. (Yes i had tons of C's). During my freshman summer vacation, i found my dream of being an architect and really found the importance of pursuing my carreer, so in my sophomore and junior year i got a 4.0 out of a 4.0 gpa for both of my school years. Currently, as a senior i'm taking all ap's and maintaing all a's. I have gotten an award for being the highest improver in school. Will this upward curve of my gpa a benefit in my admission process? Or, my freshman grade a stain in my gpa?

Yes, it’s a benefit. And some schools don’t count freshman grades.

An upward trend is a good thing, not as good as good grades all the way through, but certainly better than starting strong and dropping off. Some colleges (Princeton is one) say they disregard freshman grades, but to the extent they bring down your class rank you might be hurt.
