DCC? Douglass Campus Center? I’ve never even bothered to go in there; isn’t only for girls who attend Douglass College? Also, did you say that they take your RUID card for a meal swipe? I never knew that you could use your meal swipe for a meal that actually has a specific price on it. Are you sure that it is the meal swipe that’s being subtracted from your card and not the cash credit?

Yes, you can use a meal swipe, it won’t come out of your RUExpress. This policy is repeated at quite a few Rutgers locations as can be easily found out via google.

The Douglass Campus Center is open to any Rutgers student, not just females in the Douglass program, and is used as a meeting place for a lot of clubs. It is also quite a popular meeting location due to the computer lab, pool tables and the meal exchange program.

Ah, thank you both knight2015 and Novatrixs for suggesting DCC. It will make my life much easier next semester. Just curious, is it like a take out style in which if you swipe your card once you get to take a certain amount of food? Also, is it usually crowded there at dinner time?

There are a lot more options than takeout but it’s kind of the same concept. You order what you want from one of the stations, they make it for you and then you go over to the register where they swipe. Just be careful that your meal value doesn’t go above $7.50 or you will have to pay cash or use RUExpress. Don’t worry, though, $7.50 will get you a long way in the DCC.
It does get a little crowded around dinner and lunch, but that’s to be expected. Even with the dinner rush it usually doesn’t take me more than 5-10 min to get in and out.

yeah the food at the dcc is good. i got a sandwich from the middle thing, and it was a lot of food. the sandwich was like 5.50, so i even had money (from the 7.50 limit) left over to buy a drink. the sandwich was really good, and they have a lot of other options too. should save you a lot of time rather than going to neilson. also theres a dunkin in the dcc now too ;D

DCC is the best. It’s the closest thing to regular food you can get with your meal swipe. It’s a great place to use up your leftover swipes at the end of the semester. In addition to meals you can swipe for candy, ice cream, drinks, you name it :)
