From CA---NY

I have a couple questions here, while I have an idea of the answers (mostly negative) I still thought I'd give it a shot to ask here.

I messed up my first year in community college in california. I failed my first semester classes and dropped all my second semester classes so my standing gpa from there is 0.00 -_- cringes I was going through some personal problems at the time but that's no excuse. I wish I could go back and do it over but I can't. In high school my average gpa was around 3.2 or 3.3 I can't remember. Also, I never took my SATs... because I was planning on just going to a CC after highschool, will that be a problem for transferring to a good school later on? (nyu/nyit)
Anyway, I applied to another so-cal school- Orange coast college (haven't heard from them yet) and a cuny - la guardia. What I wanted to do was get a hospitality/hotel management certificate from OCC then transfer over to cuny la guardia to finish my AAS in hotel management then see if it was even remotely possible to transfer into a NYU school for hospitality and hotel management. I want to know if this is a good idea or if I should just stay here finish my AA at OCC then transfer to a calstate. I plan on moving to new york anyway as a permanent residence and find work in the hospitality industry over there.

So to reiterate, I wanted to know if it was even remotely possible for me to get into NYU if I work really hard in school now despite my failing 1st year in college, and I also want some intake on if I should get my certificate then go to a cuny then try to find some other graduate school that would accept me if nyu isnt a possibility for me. Oh, and the reason I wanted to stay here for the certification program was because I tried to find a similar program in new york but I couldn't find one. I just wanted that extra award on my record so when I enter the job industry I would look better.

Chances are slim on acceptance for that particular major at NYU and with that GPA. Although that shouldn’t stop you from still trying.
