Hello,

so… its looking more and more like i’ll be going to penn… woo hoo !!!

I did not know much about penn when I applied (except that it has a superb psychology department), and just found out about Wharton… yea… stupid… I didn’t even give it a shot …

so I’m thinking about transfering to wharton after finishing my first year at CAS… so my question is…

how hard is it to transfer?
if GPA is all that matters, wouldn’t people take some easy/bs classes just to boost up their gpa?

also, what wharton class should I take as a freshman? (gpa promising ones)

any advice will be greatly appreciated… thx

admissions officers at Penn said it was harder to transfer to Wharton once you're already in Penn than it is to get into Wharton straight out of high school.

oops =(
but is it possible?

"admissions officers at Penn said it was harder to transfer to Wharton once you're already in Penn than it is to get into Wharton straight out of high school."

I have spoken to a bunch of people, mostly students at penn and wharton who have done the transfer, and they all say that infomation like that is a huge exagerration and it isn't nearly as hard as a lot of people say.

Go to the Wharton website and the requirements for transfer are clearly outlined. The GPA is a moving target-depends on who else is trying for the available spots. It is NOT easy, but it can be done. Obviously, it is not something that Wharton wants to encourage because too many people would try to backdoor their way into Wharton.
