From CSU to CC to UC

Hello!
I'm currently now a sophmore starting today at CSUF. I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering and I am thinking about transferring. From what I researched, transferring from a CSU to UC is literally impossible. I want to be cautious in this decision and I need advice. My freshman year I took a total of 26 units. And this fall semester I'm taking 16 units. I am thinking about finishing my fall semester at CSUF and then drop out and go to a CC to finish my spring semester. Will this work? I heard I'll have to have more CC units than CSU units to consider myself a CC transfer. I want to transfer specifically from CSUF to a CC to UCLA. I am not clear on how the process works. Also I am pretty scared to drop out of CSUF because they also froze admissions for next year too. Not only that, I heard it's very hard to enroll in classes at CC's. Any advice? Thanks!

For more clearer info... I am planning to stay for another semester and drop out and finish my spring semester at a cc and hopefully transfer.

you would have to apply to UC this fall. Registering for CCC would be easy (you just sign up) but it wouldn’t help you get into UC and if you didn’t get in, you would be stuck at a CCC for another year.

Not impossible, just improbable. Going to a CCC is your best option. I’m not sure if you should stay at CSUF at all since there is not a good way for you to determine whether the courses you complete there will be transferable to UCLA.
