From CSU to private university..?

So I know that its difficult to transfer from a CSU to a UC, but what about CSU to private university? Such as USC or maybe NYU?

i would think it would be easier, but i dont really know.

In the cases you site, pretty unlikely. It will depend on several things, but the transfer in rates are NYU 26% and USC 21%. ( In comparison, SD State is initial 44% admit rate, SFSU is 67% admit rate.) You will have to be competitive. From a good school, good department. Will depend on the department you are transferring to. Your talent in comparison to the transfer pool. But I don’t know first hand, perhaps stellar performance will be rewarded.

USC may be easier than NYU. Who knows. I do know that USC has articulation histories with CSULA, CSULB, CSUN, and Cal Poly Pomona. If you go to one of these CSUs, you can find the articulation here: [USC ARR : Articulation : Articulation Histories](http://www.usc.edu/dept/ARR/articulation/arthis.html)

I’m guessing this means that they have had an at least significant amount of students transfer in from these CSUs. Take that for what it’s worth.
