I'm a CEE and I am gonna for sure at least a minor in EECS. I have no programming experience at all and I am taking E7 this semester, should I take CS 61A next semester or go straight to CS 61B (Since it is allowed)? I plan on taking CS 61C since is a requirement for the upper divs I would take.

Is a double major in CEE and EECS feasible and/or useful?

Will an EECS minor look good for grad school/jobs?

Seeing as how my first real programming course was the equivalent to 61B, you can definitely start off like that, if you work hard (They probably don’t spend very much time teaching Java, so you’ll have to pick it up quickly).

61C is challenging, and it is hard to quantify how much 61A helped in preparing me for 61C (It doesn’t seem like it helped very much).

I don’t think you should minor for it looking good, rather you should get it for the additional skills that you’ll gain, that you can actually show and impress employers with.

Thanks for the feedback on the classes. I may just pick the CS 61A book and self teach essential stuff and go to CS 61B.

I am definitely minoring in EECS simply because I really want to. I was just wondering if it will look good, which will be an external plus.

Any other feedback is appreciated.
