from malibu to michigan??

just got my sophomore transfer acceptance to um!! still waiting on others, but im taking this school into strong consideration, so i want to weigh the pros/cons.

needless to say, the weather is a huge difference, which i will admit i am weighing in as a factor lol (i hate the cold)! how different is everything else, just everyday life, difference between ann arbor and los angeles, michigan and california, EVERYTHING.

ANY comparisons, biased or not, would be highly appreciated, as I've never been anywhere near the state. wherever i transfer, I'm looking to stay for the next three years, so I want to be happy (obviously).

and it would be especially helpful if i could hear from students that live in ca but go to school in michigan or vice versa.

THANKS EVERYONE

p.s. is it humid in ann arbor? random question, but it really will make a difference lol thanks again.

My D is at Michigan and she is from and grew up in West LA. Michigan was a huge adjustment and it is not just the weather. (Her biggest issue was that the sense of humor was different and no one “got her.”) That being said, she is now a junior and seems to have found her niche. She must have transformed to a midwesterner because she was so happy last week when it was sunny. She actually said it was beautiful there and I could hear the joy in her voice. It is a great university and I love Ann Arbor.
