From Michigan Engineering to other econ/business

The programs I am looking at:
Chicago Econ
Duke Econ
Cal Econ/Business
Northwestern Econ
Cornell Econ/AEM
Notre Dame

Hi, I am a sophomore(rising junior) engineering major/econ minor at Michigan and currently have a 3.5 - 3.6 gpa
.
I know I missed the deadline for fall transfer, so I am planning to apply for transfer next year to get into duke as a junior. So I am guessing if I do transfer I’ll repeat a year but I dont have a problem with that.

I want to transfer because:

 1. I am sick of studying engineering
 2. I DO NOT want to be an engineer at any point in my life
 3. The above schools are target for ibanks. And michigan engineering is probably a soft target at best (I dont know for sure because logically i would think michigan engineering isnt a target at all but i always see BB firms at engineering fairs here)

Do you think I have much of a chance for transfer? I know my gpa is low but it’s from one of the top engineering programs out there and engineering is known to have deflated gpa.

Also, I am just wondering, would the above be a significant upgrades in terms of opportunities available for ibanking opportunities, I mean compared to michigan engineering if I stick it out.

thanks

are you going to be a junior next year? if so take ND off your list. They only will allow you to enroll as high as 1st semester junior for transfer and lock highly upon students graduating on time. Secondly you cannot get into the B-school any more. So unless you are looking at Econ or some other thing in CAS.

bumpity bump bump bump

really no help?
