May I know what other ?less selective? LACs send the most students to prestigious graduate schools other than the likes of Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, Harvey Mudd, Carleton? Thanks!

Hampshire College sends kids to prestigious graduate schools every year.

Do you have your US News list handy? If not, click here. See the first 100 or so? There's your answer...

Getting into graduate school has less to do with your school than what you make of your resources. Predictably, this varies considerably from department to department, even within the same college. Students in the archaeology department at Wooster, the creative writing department at Hollins, or the music program at Lawrence do as well as their more prestigious counterparts. In fact, one of the top per capita PhD producers in anthropology and marine science is the tiny College of the Atlantic.

for getting into grad school, it's better to be in the top 10% at a lesser-regarded state school (for example) than the bottom 10% at an ivy. it's more about your performance than whether or not your school had a big name.

thank you for eveyone's advice..

"research' done is one of the main factors in admission to top graduate schools.. so can I change my question to 'which LACs provide penty of research opportunities'?..

Thanks..

Is Oberlin a good choice?..

Oberlin has a very good record of getting students into top graduate schools. I'm an alum myself and am currently in one of the top IR programs. I also have friends who went to Yale Law, Chicago, and various schools at Harvard. But remember, you have to do well at Oberlin (3.7 or higher) to get into the top programs.

More Oberlin graduates have earned PhDs since 1920 than grads of any other undergraduate college in the country.

St. Johns (either Annapolis or Santa Fe)

REED definitely comes to mind...one of the best schools in trems of getting into Grad schools,, has 40% admission acceptance (because most people don't bother applying because the course load is so difficult) and it is in what some people consider the best city to live, in Portland Oregon...definitely should think about it..

Occidental College has numerous programs with Columbia including a 3/2 BA/JD program and a bunch of others

Reed is down to 33% acceptance this year.

guess more people are hearing about it!!!

Oberlin gets its students into top grad schools.. but do you mean Physics and Maths programs?.. Just wanna know more..
