From one Trojan, to all of you Bruins...

well, it looks as if i'll be going to the University of the Scholastically Challenged next year. i just wanted to say that i look forward to 4 wonderful years of interscholastic rivalry with all of you. but this brings me to my question: how much friendly interaction is there between UCLA and USC students? i have alot of friends at UCLA and i know i'll be hanging out in Westwood at least a little bit next year. i'm curious how much school spirit will affect that.

It's usually just in jest. I have plenty of friends who go to SC and the only time I hear about it is when there's some kind of sports thing going on.

However, if you wear an SC shirt in Westwood on purpose, I'll personally kick your ass myself. Because that's just asking for it. Especially if you're in a group of people with matching sweatshirts. It's like saying "hi i know i could totally blend in if i wore normal clothes BUT NO, im going to wear this stupid red sweatshirt all day to make my allegiances known" THATS annoying. I know you guys like to come to our InNOut and our hookah bars and whatever, but leave the red at home.

but what if it's cold outside? USC takes all of our money so the only thing we can afford is USC attire.

it's only because we are jealous of you're InNOut! however, we are getting a Chipotle this summer, so i'm pretty excited.

not only westwood... fall quarter some moron was wearing an SC shirt in the de neve DINING HALL after a football game!!! like, how stupid can you get.
everybody in the place was booing him as he walked around. kind of fun, actually :)
if you aren't openly stupid like that, you'll be fine. a lot of people have BFs/GFs or just really good friends at SC.
i may not always understand you trojans, but i'll give what i get. at the SC football game, a lot of fans were giving us (the colorguard/marching band) $h!t and i REAAALLY wanted to hit them with my flag
but if you're civil, or even nice, i'll respect you a lot more xD

now that allie has expressed her views, i will purposely wear a red shirt to westwood, in fact to UCLA. lol jk. The previous responses really do speak for themselves.

so, Polite, i see you're anything but :]

i made my friend wear blue when her (my) high school marching band visited SC...
'cept her pants got soaked and she had to buy USC sweatpants >.<

the rivalry really isn't that heated unless it's around gameday.

i have plenty of friends at SC, and they visit frequently.
although it is kind of annoying when you guys clog up the diddyriese line on friday nights.... =\ =/

oh and on another note, anyone who wore ANY red to marching band practice here, got incessantly ridiculed...
all of us frosh quickly learned to delete red from our practice clothes xD
people DO wear red here.
as long as it's a normal shirt/jacket/skirt/whatever and not paired with gold...

I find it funny that Pinkberry is in Westwood.

USC grads don't even bother having their businesses by USC because they know that Westwood is a better market.

And good luck at USC, sir. I look forward to teasing you when UCLA beats USC in everything humanly possible. :-)

We have the Chipotle in Beverly Hills so I'm cool with that : ) And yeah, i actually had an SC friend come visit a mutual friend on campus and he wore his SC sweatshirt because he's obnoxious like that and apparently two HUGE basketball or football guys immediately approached him and told him he better take the sweatshirt off on their campus.

He did, because he was scared.

I laugh.

Is the Pinkberry owner an SC grad?

so basically it's like the cold war without nuclear warheads?

wonderful

why, you want nuclear warheads?

lmao.

has anyone put the hammer and sickle on an sc labeled hoodie yet?

nope, there's enough of a "Red Scare" for the Bruins already hehe

sorry i couldn't resist

wouldn't that be ironic if they paired it with a U$C logo...

i was thinking the same thing, liyana

great minds think alike
...oh wait... there's just ONE fundamental difference...

haha i know i know. no need to say it. i can't express how excited i am to go to a school with such a big rivalry.
