When I applied to UVa, I put down engineering as my intended major. On my acceptance letter, it says that I was accepted to the engineering school. So my question is, can I call UVa and tell them that I want to switch to the college of arts and science because I am uncertain if I would like to major in engineering. Has this been done? (By the way, I want to start this fall in the college of arts and science, I don't want to transfer after my first year.)

Dean J said “if you’d like to switch schools now, you’ll have to write a letter to the Dean with your request. His name and address is on your offer letter.”

Is the Dean whose address and name is on our offer letter the same person as Dean J. Just to let you know, I’m not home that is why I am asking. If I request to switch schools, will the Dean most likely grant me my request?

The Dean on the offer letter is Greg Roberts not Dean J

I’m not sure what the likelyhood is, you can ask Dean J on her blog or maybe she’ll pop in here

I’m trying to do the same thing except go into SEAS, maybe we can switch places

What do you plan on majoring in?

I’m sort of interested in Business/Economics.

I was wondering the same thing. Dean J do you think you can comment on this?
