From Superman to Ivory Tower ... Why did it get so wrong in education?

A sobering view on why it costs so much to preserving the benefits of so few on the back of so many. The scandalous illusion of the world of education.

<a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/3031867/whats-wrong-with-higher-education-ivory-tower-dissects-the-answer">http://www.fastcompany.com/3031867/whats-wrong-with-higher-education-ivory-tower-dissects-the-answer</a>?</p>

Colleges “have lost their way about who and what they are” another professor says (the second most interesting aspect of Ivory Tower is just how much of the sharpest criticism of the system comes from within, from the professors themselves). To deal with this massive construction boom and the complex finances required to create it, universities have also embarked on a hiring spree, bringing on hordes of extremely well-compensated people who will never step foot in a classroom. Graduation rates are down, party schools are up, and still the administrators’ salaries rise.

He doesn’t really make any sense at all.

To help colleges rediscover “their way”, the gov’t should pass stricter laws for schools to qualify for “non-profit” tax status.

Why are U.S. taxpayers subsidizing all these administrators feeding at the trough.

^^ couldn’t agree more. Not that it has anything to do with education, but the NFL is also a non profit. Talk about subsidizing pigs at the trough.

@doubtful,
Keep your fingers crossed…
