From the Chicago Blog

AVAILABLE.

Today, you will receive (or have already received) an email informing you that your decisions may be viewed on your Chicago Account. If you do not receive this email, don't worry! You can still log in to see your decision. If you have never logged in before, your user name is the email address you used on your Common Application, and you can look up your password by clicking "Forgot your password?"*

We are rolling out decisions based on time zone. If you have not received your email, please check after school. PLEASE NOTE: our server is very busy right now, so if you cannot view your decision letter, please check back in an hour or so.

When you log in, you will be given one last chance not to view your decision online, in the off chance that you were just strolling by the website and suddenly tripped and logged into your account and didn't even want to find out your decision that way. If you indeed want to know your decision right now, you can proceed to see your letter.

Please do not call the office for your admissions decision. We do not give decisions by phone, email, or any other means of communication except for the letter in your Chicago Account or in the mail. If you are unable to retrieve your decision online and do not receive it in the mail for two weeks, let us know and we will resend it in the mail.

*If you have any issues with your Chicago Account specifically, please contact me, Elizabeth Hemphill, at hemphill@uchicago.edu. If you have any questions in general, please contact the Office of College Admissions at collegeadmissions@uchicago.edu or 773-702-8650.

Was just going to post this. Rolling out by time zone - so if you haven’t received it it doesn’t automatically mean you’re rejected.

Yeah but this probably isn’t true. Other applicants from Singapore have gotten their decisions. o.O

Even if we’re EST…

This doesn’t make sense. Some of my classmates have gotten theirs already but I cannot see anything.

Perhaps what’s happening is that regional adcoms are uploading decisions for their respective regions at the moment.

server is loaded…wth

I would just like to say that I have been rather disappointed with Chicago’s handling of the situation thus far…I appreciate that they try and reduce server load by releasing by time zone but then it appears that this is not at all what they have done. Also some applicants (like myself) have received decisions with no email, but others have received an email with no decisions.

I understand that applications have increased but you would still think they would be more prepared.
