I'm a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill and I want to transfer to michigan into their 3 year BBA program.

In my first semester I have all A's, leadership positions. When I applied for Michigan as a high school senior I was deferred and then waitlisted and then rejected.

So assuming my GPA is around 3.7, what do you guys think my chances are?

If you don't need aid, probable. Otherwise, forget it =). Not that you are an unqualified applicant. On the contrary, you are a really qualified applicant. However, these schools are not quite into transferring internationals and definitely not keen on giving them aid. I too am an international so trust me =)

However, if money is not a problem, you may make it. If you were to be an U.S citizen however, I would have booked a plane ticket to Ann Arbor to visit you next year.

Oops, I did not see the UNC. If you are studying in US, your chances a little more as an international. Actually, some schools don't even regard internationals who study in US as international students.

Also, UNC and UMich are both nice schools. Therefore, I am increasing your chances by %20 in comparison with the post above.

My college GPA is/will be 3.7+ (im in my first semester and just finished exams) and my high school GPA was 3.89/4.3 unweighted. And i was deferred, then waitlisted, then rejected by umich the first time. And im apply to Ross' 3 year BBA program, not to LSA.

scsazak, I wont ask for aid if that'll boost my chances!!! I'm from India but i went to an international school and grew up in Indonesia. What about you?

Btw, check UMich Admissions Office for their policy. You should be evaluated as a native applicant but still, caution is a destressor. Learn it now and don't get stressed tomorrow.

I dont understand how you got into UNC but you didnt get into Umich. You should have gotten in the first place. Despite your stance as an internatinoal student, I believe that you have a legitimate chance at getting in.
