I was accepted as undeclared. I think I want to get into engineering but how easy/hard is it to get in the engineering school?

Not easy, unless you are engineering undeclared (as opposed to L&S undeclared or NR undeclared).

[Change of College (into COE) — UC Berkeley College of Engineering](Change of college - Berkeley Engineering)

If you want to study computer science, consider the L&S computer science major. If you want to study operations research, consider the L&S operations research and managment science major.

what’s the difference between the CS in L&S and the one in engineering other than the fact it’s easier to get into? Is the material the same?

L&S CS and EECS choose from the same CS courses. EECS has additional requirements (e.g. Physics 7A-7B, Math 53, EE 20N, EE 40 instead of 42), different breadth requirements, and allows choice of any combination of EE and CS upper division courses (L&S CS requires at least 6 upper division CS courses and 1 more CS or technical elective course).

If you want to study CS and are not already in EECS, L&S CS is less hassle in most respects.
