Hello friends, so here is my story short: I graduated from a high school in Colombia (but I am a US citizen) and applied to MIT got into the waitlist and then got rejected. I went to penn state for mechanical engineering for one semester got a 3.8 GPA. after that semester someone in my family got terminally sick and some other problems forced my to transfer to the University of Miami were I have studied for last past 3 semesters (junior right now) GPA: 3.94. I have done one internship so far, it was in a Colombian energy company; I have done research for one semester and I am the founder and president of energy club. I feel like no matter how good my grades are just because I am graduating from University of miami I wont get into MIT for a masters in engineering what do you think? Could someone please advice me?

Do you have a backup plan?

yes, I am planing to apply to other less competitive schools. But what I really want to know is what my chances are? is it even possible to get from University of miami to MIT? has someone done it, those are type of answers I am looking for. Thanks

I know one person going from UF to top ranked Stanford for aerospace engineering so it is certainly feasible.

He had 3.8 GPA and 1500 GRE, probably also lots of research and good recommendations.

If you are engineer maybe you can chance me in this thread, thanks in advance:
