Can frosh/soph seminars satisfy one of the 7 breadth requirements?
If so, would it be smart to take a 2 unit seminar instead of a 4 unit class to satisfy one of the breadths I am not interested in?

Thanks!!

If they are 2 units it is possible that they cover a breadth. I think there was a minimum total units for the 7 breadth requirements though I cant find it anymore

Mmmm.... I don't think they can be used to cover breadth. There are TONS of classes that do satisfy breadth in almost every major... look them up at the L&S website: ( http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/requirements/lsreq.html#7breadth )

"These courses must be a minimum of 2 units each."

Just because a course is 2 units doesn't mean it covers breadth. There are a few seminars that qualify, so if you want to check if your seminar covers it, look under (Major) 39. The trick is whether or not it's offered in a given semester.

I think some are listed as 24 and some 84.

Yes, they can, if they are deemed such. Some are, for example, all the history courses with two or more units- they satisfy the history breadth.

Eh. Find something you're interested in. If you can't, you could probably look harder, considering how so many departments have things in other departments that are study very similar subject matter from another perspective. If you want, go ahead.

I didnt say all of them do
