I messed up!! I used a pencil on the free response questions of my AP psychology exam will this be a 0 on the frqs and how do u know?
ouch. the guidelines say that you must use a blue or black ink pen in order to complete the free response questions for AP psychology. Pencils were only supposed to be used for the Multiple choice bubble sheets.
I would assume that since you were supposed to use pen, they might give you 0s for the frq, but if you get lucky you might get a nice grader. As long as it is dark and legible, I wouldn’t worry too much about it, but if you want a more concrete answer, I would call the college board directly rather than posting here. they will give you a definite answer.
good luck
It could be a real problem. Pencil can be erased, pen can’t. It’s not a question of legibility.
I agree-- call the College Board ASAP
What did they say?
Unfortunately I believe your answers written in pencil will not be scored. They are pretty hard and fast on that rule - no matter HOW many times I say it to my students, every few years someone forgets - and it doesn’t go well
It will be scored. We get this question each and every year.
The reason they ask for pen is because it is darker and harder to smudge - therefore more legible. Yes, students should follow instructions. And yes, when you get to college, professors may mark down for [n]not** following instructions. But here, you should be OK.
How did you even do that? Lol when I took HGAP there were like 6 administrators walking around before and during FRQ and making sure everyone was using a pen. Anyway good luck!
