Frustrated with UCF

@springsmom What course did your Son apply to? Sorry to ask … and what gpa and sat? My son is 3.57 and 1230

Any answer?

My daughter finally got off the wait list today! It’s been a long, emotional roller coaster ride, but completely worth it once she saw the word “Congratulations”.

@Gramm4 congrats!!! Finally!!! Yeahhhhh
What’s your daughter grade? Gpa and sat?

Up

Have you heard back from UCF? I figured that May 1st would be the last acceptance day

Not yet

I applied August 25th, 2019 and had all materials submitted and processed no later than September 9th, 2019.

GPA: 2.92 (at application, now raised to a 3.08 unweighted)
SAT: 1140
AP Courses, Lots of Leadership EC, 150+ Logged Volunteer Hours, September Elks Student of the Month

Status as of October 12th, 2019 is DEFERRED

I am so anxious waiting. I am sending in my semester grades when they become available at the start of the new semester in January. May retake the SAT or take the ACT.

When do you think I may receive a decision? I keep scouring the Internet for an answer and I see people getting deferred receiving decisions as early as December/January, but then I see deferred students receiving decisions in May. I am so confused and scared. I don’t want months and months of stress and anxiety to amount to an eventual no. I would’ve rather gotten a no 2 weeks after I applied rather than 7 months after I applied.

Any thoughts?

What do you believe had them make their decision on your acceptance? Same boat here, ooo and been waiting since Oct for Fall 2021 admission. Does your D like the school all considered with COVID?

@h20cop, this thread is almost 2 years old so you may not get any response from the OP.

Our experience with Undergrad Admissions for Fall 2020 was the opposite of OP’s. We found them to be very responsive and helpful.

You may have a bit more of a wait, tho. We applied in Nov 2019 and didn’t get an acceptance until late January 2020.

A couple of pro tips, LOL:

  1. If you get an acceptance for Summer 2021 instead of Fall, jump on it. All summer acceptance means is you have to take ONE online course during Summer B. You have to do 9 hours in the summer anyway, so summer acceptance is actually a good thing.

  2. If you really want to attend UCF, and you get accepted, apply for Housing IMMEDIATELY. Your housing acceptance date determines your priority for room selection, and that can be very important – especially if you decide on one of the Academic Year contract dorms instead of an Annual contract.

Oh…and our daughter LOVES UCF! She has been attending at UCF main campus, and absolutely loves the school. All of her classes have been online (and also for Spring, so far), but she really likes the campus, facilities, resources, etc.

She had one bad prof for Chem, but the others have been excellent.
