Does any of your mailman just cram everything into your little bitty mailbox, even the big envelops from the admissions office? Whoever is delivering mail around my neighbor is just so irresponsible. From time to time some things are even torn up halfway through. I was so upset when the early write packet from Wesleyan along with my financial info arrived and the folder was bent so much it is wrinkled all over!! I know he must be busy and stuff but these days I'm just so sensitive about my college stuff and it's getting on my nerve :(

I sure hope your grief at the dog-earing of your letter was promptly overwhelmed by happiness you got an early write into Wesleyan.

My mailman is surprisingly nice about big envelopes. None of them have been torn or ripped and once, I watched him put a big envelope (not an acceptance letter, but one of my college’s viewbooks into the slot so nicely and politely.

Kaznack: I seriously wanted to iron my early write and full-ride packet. lol

AvantTao: Wow, that is really nice of him. Uhh… where do you live again? :)

All of my big acceptance folders have been put into a side-mailbox for big packages, and the key to that box is in my regular box. That means i have experiences no dismemberment of acceptance packages so far :)

Man… You guys are all so lucky. Maybe I should write a note to my mailman or something?

You should, but he may have to deliver his own mail to his door so he could read it along the way.

And I live in Cali :D!

I live in Texas… lol You still going to Experience Bowdoin 09? I am so excited. I sent in the registration form yesterday. Hope it will get there without being lost…

I faxed it in the day after I got my acceptance letter (I want to go so bad!) and I am so excited for it. It’ll be my first trip to Bowdoin and I am hoping to be blown away. I’m looking forward to meeting you there!

I should have faxed mine so I can confirm but it is spring break over here so I did not have an access to a fax machine anyway.

Haha, same here. I’ve never visited any college campuses other than those in Texas. (Texas A&M, UT Austin, UTSA…etc) Well, technically it wasn’t really a visit since I went there for my math competitions… lol Hey, maybe we should e-mail each other or something! What other colleges are you waiting from?

Yes, we should! Feel free to Message me and we can swap contact info! I set up a Bowdoin Experience thread in the Bowdoin Forum. I’m waiting on 5 more (Bates, Middlebury, Haverford, Vassar, Kenyon) but I have already been accepted to 4 (Colby, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, UC San Diego) so I’m not as nervous.

How about you?

I already got accepted to UT Austin like forever ago. That was my safety school just in case. And I got accepted to Wellesley, Bowdoin, and Wesleyan so far. Wesleyan is the only one who sent me the aid package so far and I got a full ride there. Still waiting from Amherst, Northwestern, Williams, Swarthmore, Oberlin and Pomona.

Don’t tick off your mail man…

I’m sorry laceyk, but is it really necessary to complain? I don’t mean to be insensitive to your wrinkled envelope, but you got a full ride acceptance letter and you’re dwelling on a bent envelope? Please. You got accepted to a prestigious university. I’d be ticked if I got a small rejection envelope, not a bent FULL RIDE to WESLEYAN! Congratulations by the way. I’m praying for the best as well.

Haha… I’m not just complaining about the Wesleyan one. He’s been like that forever, and now since the decisions are coming in, I am kinda worried. He often puts my mail to other mail boxes and my neighbors come to my house at least once every other week to hand me my mails. What if my acceptance or rejection letter gets lost and I never get to find out? lol Oh, well. I guess I am just too tired of all this waiting. :P

I do feel your pain to an extent. My recommendations didn’t make it to Wesleyan until last week because they were lost in the mail twice. TWICE! Admissions said they would still consider it. Wheww… How’s that for dodging a bullet? But it does worry me that other items that I’m not aware of have not found their way to the intended university… I’d be fine (as well as upset) with not getting into a school due to my lack of merit, but I’d have a nervous breakdown if I don’t get in due to a mailing error. That’s unforgivable. So I withdraw my sarcastic gesture in the comment above. I feel your anxiety. Congratulations btw. Wesleyan is one of my top choices as well.

Oh, that’s fine… lol Good luck! Hope you hear some good news from them soon.

My mailman made me extremely happy today. I received an acceptance letter from Kenyon College (which has a thumbs-up on it) and instead of putting it in my mailbox, he laid it out on my porch and that was the first thing I saw when I got home! I was soooo happy :D!

lol See how your mailman can make a difference in you life? Congrats!!

Aww, Avant, that is SO nice of him! You should wait around one day and thank him. :O
