When filling out the FSA ID, it asked for my middle name initial but the problem is I have two middle names and it only allows one initial. I don’t know if I should put my first middle name initial or would that mess up my information?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
I think it will work with just the initial of the first middle name - if you are sure that’s how the SSA has it, that you have one first name, two middle names, one last name.
If the system thinks that you have 2 first names or 2 last names, it might not match. My daughter has 2 first names, with a space, and the system did match with just the initial of the third (middle) name.
@kelsmom can correct me but I’m pretty sure they just match up SSNs and not names. My name sometimes allows an apostrophe and sometimes doesn’t and it’s never triggered anything. I know one did accept it and one didn’t and it was no problem.
Well, they have to match up SSN and ???(something!) and it’s the name and birth date. The name has to be close, so if, for example, you have changed your name because of getting married, it will not match if the last name was Smith and now it is Brown.
@twoinanddone @romanigypsyeyes Thanks you guys, I was just making sure, I didn’t want to put any wrong info or anything
One of my Ds has 2 middle names and we had no difficulty with fafsa. She used the first initial of the first middle name.
