does it improve the chances of admission to apply early decision/early action or should I apply on the regular admission deadline
I think early decision/early action definitely improves your chances. I have nothing scientific or factual to base that on but early application got a summer admit here and stats were not as good as some who were rejected on regular decision - for that matter some were rejected on early decision with better stats but I fear that perhaps it may not have been an acceptance during regular decision.
The initial deadline is Oct. 19th. Definitely better odds of acceptance in that round.
You should ALWAYS apply by the October deadline. This is FSU’s main decision day; they take the vast majority of their applicants from this deadline. If you can’t apply by that deadline, your chances decrease noticeably.
I always caution calling the October deadline/December decision early decision or early action or any of those terms, because it really isn’t the usual early decision. If anything, the March decision is FSU’s late decision date, because they are accepting a much smaller number of students.

I’ve been trying to find some numbers, but the closest thing I was able to find was that FSU had a record number of applicants this year (beating last year’s record). It’s not surprising that the stats are a bit higher for the University Scholarships and the OOS waivers. Saw the same thing with SC, where I was sure D would get the full OOS waiver and her acceptance only included half.
