FSU and other film schools

So I will be applying for colleges this coming year and like every other high-school senior am stressing over the application process. My passion is film, well let me rephrase my passion is writing and directing film. ATM I'm obviously hoping to get into a big name film school like USC or NYU, but I would love to go to FSU film seeing as they pay for production costs and all. My fear is that I am under-qualified for admission.

As of this writing these are most of the stats

GPA- 4.35
ACT-31 (going to take again in September or October I forget)
Class rank of 76 out of 690
I've taken lots of AP's and honors
My senior schedule has 4 AP's and one honors class
Unweighted GPA is 3.6
My junior schedule was overwhelming which brought my GPA down and my rank, so I feel like I screwed myself a bit (7 academics plus gym out of eight classes; 4 AP)
My EC's are a problem because I've done lots of things, but I bounced around

I spent freshman year doing volunteer work (200 hours), SOS, and football

Sophomore year I managed a music store and started a grief counseling website (mom passed of cancer in 8th grade), and was part of a foreign exchange club (went to Spain that year lived with a family for the summer, if you have a chance visit it's beautiful!)

Junior year wasn't much; more volunteer work (50 hours), NHS, and I tried to start up a school film club but that won't really take off until next year

Senior year is still up in the air obviously

I've been published in a few writing contests and placed top 16 in a national writing contest

Was also selected to work on a teen filmmaking program with 60 other kids (10 per city, 6 cities) the applicant pool was 3,000 I was told, it was the Fresh Films program again if you have the chance do it.

And ya so CC posters work your magic :D
