I am In State

Its a reach for you based on your rest scores.

That doesn’t sound good ):

@LonelyBanana106 You should be fine. Based on what I’ve seen over the past three years you should be fine. I can only remember one person not getting into FSU. They’ll let almost anyone in. Students with 3.0 gpas 19 on the ACT and no leadership have been accepted.

Well I know a friend of mine last year that got accepted with like a 3.2 UW GPA and like a mid 1600 on the SAT but when I research it, eveything seems so much harder. Is it really that hard to get in with a 50% acceptance more or less?

Forgot to reply to you

@LonelyBanana106 I feel that they are more generous to instate students. Plus my school is one of the best public schools in one of Florida’s largest counties so they may give our kids an edge.

The amount of stress and anxiety I have over this is killing me. Everyday, all I can think about is what happens if I dont get accepted and what to do after, I worked very hard for 4 years in high school and I feel my test scores have ruin my chances ):

I’m in a marine magnet public Florida school in one of Floridas biggest counties sooo hopefully I’ll have an edge as well!

Also if my high school has the biggest population in Florida (more than 4000) where there are 981 seniors by itself, will that be of advantage to me, especially with my rank?

@LonelyBanana106 I have a friend with very similar scores who currently attends. I heard rumors from a friends parent who is heavily involved in the alumni network that FSU expecting much more applications this year and that they may potentially be more selective. Don’t worry about it, you should be fine. Its not like there is anything you can do now. If you’ve worked hard for the past 4 years than you should get in.

Ya FSU is harder to get into now for some reason. the school isn’t as good as its selectivity would point to

I think you have a decent chance. I wouldn’t say you’re for sure going to get in but your GPA definitely gives you a nice advantage to a lot of other in-state kids that are applying. From personal experience, I know someone who had a 3.0 and 27 ACT that got in so I think a 25 gives you a pretty good chance for an in-state kid. Good luck!

When I’m around friends, they say that it’s like a safety school to them and that they aren’t even worried because they know they will be accepted and I’m just there like … It’s my reach and dream school :l

I think FSU is hyping their admissions. Theres no way the third best popular college in Florida and the 93 best college can be that selective

That’s what I can’t believe. Last year, I knew people who were decent in there academics and scores that still got in but their website says contradicts it because I know they didn’t really do anything special in ECs either. Im so confused by it.

Ya, all these schools inflate their “incoming class stats”. I visited FSU and they told me three different middle 50% test score ranges and their website has a different one but the actual one starts with 1670. The booklet the school gave me said 1730, slide show at info session said 1790, and the website says 1760. and when you call they said 1770

I even applied for summer term to boost my chances of getting in. I already got accepted to FIU because I am currently enrolled in DE with them and applied to UF which is even a longer shot than FSU. One more month for a decision seems forever to me ):

I didn’t apply for summer and you never know I applied to UF also and more people may go to FSU which could make UF a little easier to get into.

That maybe true but don’t a lot more people apply to UF than FSU? Also UF only has 1 deadline compared to FSU which has 2
