I thought I would jump in and try to answer, just based on my daughter, who had similar stats. She applied for fall 2016, but was accepted to summer, and she has already accepted and planning to attend.
UW GPA 3.4
W 4.0
Class Rank 150/800 (more than 800 don’t know actual number)
ACT 24 (She was accepted with the 24 but has since raised it to a 26)
SAT 1560
In State
She was in the Criminal Justice Magnet (which actually ended up making her class rank lower because the CJ class that she had to take for 4 years only counted as a regular class and not honors or AP)
Her resume was decent, she had a summer job all 4 years
Other than two years in Drama and Art Club, she really did not have many EC’s. No sports.
She was accepted to Stetson, USF, UCF is pending), UF (waiting)
She will have a total of 8 AP classes at the end of the year, all the rest were honors (except for the CJ Magnet)
Her course rigor was very tough all four years, and she has passed all of the AP’s that she took last year and will probably pass the ones this year. She is not a good test taker. She second guesses everything and makes changes. We were kind of iffy about whether she would get in based on her ACT/SAT scores, but she did get accepted and offered summer admission.
You have similar stats, and you are applying for summer, which I have heard that you do have a better chance to get accepted for (I know some people don’t think that is true, but many do, and I know that I do). I think you have a strong chance at getting in. I would try to take the ACT or SAT again, if you are instate I know that you need a 26 to get any bright futures scholarship at all, so I would keep trying. I think you will get in.
Can someone chance me please?Application Status: Pending

UW GPA: 3.39
W GPA: 3.4 - I REALLY struggle with math
ACT: 27 but retaking in February
Out of State : Minnesota
Strength of Classes: Mostly Regulars, 3 APs , over 11 Business classes, and participated in Internship through school.
EC’s : DECA, Spanish Club, Track and Field, Competitive Cheerleader for 8 years, Youth in Government
Race: African American female
Essay: Very strong put a lot of effort into and had a FSU Alumni read it over.
I attend the largest school in the State so the course rigor is much harder than most schools so my GPA shows it. I have gotten a few C’s in math but get mostly A’s in the rest. Someone from my school has already been accepted w an ACT much lower than mine so I am keeping my fingers crossed !!
would you retaking the ACT in feb affect your chances though? I thought scores had to be in when everything else was due, Jan 13th. I’m only asking because if I have a chance to take the ACT last minute and see if that is my better test score then I’m going to do so. I think your EC’s are super strong and really if your essay is as good as you say it is it will pull you through. Is FSU your first choice school? @Asialeeee
Yes under the admission freshman requirements it says they’ll take the January SAT and February ACT! Florida state is my first choice as I need to get out of this snow. Thanks for giving me some feedback
@Wasianbrandon - sorry to not get back to you from a loooong time ago! I DID get accepted to fsu! But I just found out this week that I didn’t get into the audition program I wanted to go there for. Too bad bc I loved the campus there! Congrats again!
Can someone chance me? Anyone? Thank you so so so so much.

i also got deferred the first round and am hoping to be accepted during the next round of admissions. do you know if getting deferred and then accepted is common at fsu?
