FSU Class of 2022 Accepted/Rejected

Starting the thread for the applicants of Florida State University Class of 2022. Post your stats, chat, etc.
We have a long ways to decision day :frowning:

Iā€™ll startā€¦
My DD has:

Class rank 14/150
ACT: 29 (superscore)
All honors classes, 2 AP, 11 DE

300+ volunteer hours, lots of extra cirriculars

That weighted score should really be converted into an FSU weighting to give it meaning. Otherwise I like your DDā€™s chances. Impressive volunteer hours!

@NoleMom22, I think your DD has good chances too. Were any of her ECā€™s or Volunteer experience centered around nursing or working in a hospital? That tends to help with solidifying the interest in an admissions personā€™s review from what Iā€™ve been told. Especially in a limited access major like Nursing.

UPDATE:
ACT: 31 (superscored)

Not entirely happy with them, but I think itā€™ll do!

Daughter applied by the 11/1 deadline. OOS from highly ranked high school in Northern VA. Weighted GPA 3.6 and superscored SAT 1270. She has taken many honors and AP and is in all AP/dual enrollment senior year. She applied to Harpur. She has a part time job and nice extra curricular activities. We know her stats are lower than average but we are hoping she may get in. Ranking is about 170/350 however her school is EXTREMELY competitive. She has already been accepted to UCF in Orlando and USF in Tampa.

Updated Test Score:
SAT
1500 (780 M, 720 CRW, single sitting)
I was extremely surprised as I jumped 80 points from my last single sitting score of 1420! Iā€™m glad FSU looks at self-reported test scores so all I had to do was update that in the Status Check. I wish decisions came out sooner

Good luck to your daughter @Virginiachick . Her stats look good but with this ā€œholistic admissions processā€, we just never know. Letā€™s keep our fingers crossed

Congrats @Ella582 that score is AMAZING !!!

Thank you NoleMom22! I actually meant to post this on the Suny Binghamton site (Harpur school) lol! That being said, Florida State is her first choice and she is really hoping to get into the Summer session! Good luck to your student as well.

Essay: I wrote about a humbling experience I had during the holidays a few years ago when I chose an Angel from an Angel tree at Panera Bread and he asked for a backpack, ā€˜if possible.ā€™ I wrote about my family background and how it affected me as a person and who I became, what I strive to become because of it, etc.

Dad has an Associates degree and a Bachelorā€™s degree
Mom did not attend college
I qualify for Bright Futures FAS

I also donā€™t have many volunteer hours from my freshman and sophomore years because my school lost them, and foolishly, I did not think to keep a record of them for myself.

WOW @shanneken !!! Very impressive, young lady. You should be just fine. My daughter was going to apply to Notre Dame and Vanderbilt as well, but once she qualified for Bright Futures FAS we decided she wasnā€™t leaving the state. Good luck with all of your applications, keep us posted !
