FSU Class of 2022 Accepted/Rejected

Question about Seminole Pathway for OOS. If you take the Panama City or TCC option, do you then get in-state waiver when you transfer in to FSU? Because I know you get an OOS tuition waiver if you do the First Year Abroad program. Not sure if this would be the same thing (it would seem a lot cheaper than FYA, which is $39k)

Thanks to anyone who knows.

Regarding Pathways, I’ve seen references to a dorm for Pathways students. Does anyone have information on that?

@asmom how did you get that information on the 42k applications?

Is financial aid information posted for anyone?

@Sobechill The 42K applications was last year’s numbers, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a bit higher this year. The final numbers will be released after the 2nd group of acceptances go out at the end of March. I also think the 42K number includes fall transfer students (6 to 7K) and not just first time, first year, in college applications.

From March, 2017:

@Gator88NE I believe you’re right. FSU Admissions tweeted that they had a record number of applications this year, although they didn’t give a number. Not surprising given FSU’s rise in the rankings and the relatively low tuition for in-state and OOS students.

I found the latest numbers for this year.
There have been 48,000 applications so far and the official deadline is Feb 7. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the “Counselor’s Newsletter.” http://admissions.fsu.edu/publications

FIRST ACCEPTANCE!!! feels so good

Reddit has a FSU admissions page. They are great at giving you information fast. If you private message them, they get right back to you. Those numbers were on there page. The bar was set higher this year. So many kids qualified for summer, some had to take the pathways route. I’m sure it came down to the smallest details. Mainly rigor. It is important to take AP etc. Some kids with lower GPAs got in because of that.

There are no dorms for pathways, but if you have ever been to FSU, they are limited anyway. There are many dorm style apartment options all around campus. TCC is 10 mins from FSU. They both live in of campus housing together. My son is going to be living in a 2/2 our 4/4 apartment walking distance to campus. Check out FSU off campus housing site.

FSU received 47,000 applications as of 1/25 and the regular decision application deadline is 2/7. With a couple of weeks to go, that number will certainly go up but the 6200 class size won’t. The middle 50th stats for kids accepted were 4.1-4.5 academic GPA; 28-32 ACT composite; 1290-1400 SAT total.

If you got in, how do you know if you got a scholarship/granted financial aid?

stats 1370 SAT, 3.92 weighted gpa (out of state)

will we receive packets in the mail with more information?

@Sobechill , search on Southgate in Tallahassee. It is an apartment complex run like a dorm, I believe that is what you were hearing about. It is often used by FSU students who were too late to get a dorm spot but also has many TCC students as well.

@asmom Yes, I chose to do the transfer pathway. FSU is one of my backup schools so I doubt that I’ll actually go. My GPA at the time of my application was 4.28 WGPA and my SAT score was 1230 (I was very lazy and I never really studied for the 3 times I took the test), which is probably why I wasn’t admitted to the fall semester. My GPA has now gone up to 4.37 but I’m not going to be taking anymore SATs.

Does anyone know how they re-calculate gpa with first semester grades? Our school reports quarterly grades but for transcript purposes reports final grades only. I just went in & entered my DD first 2 quarters grades as I asked for a recalculation for the oos waiver. Any idea how they will do this when most of her classes are full year classes?

@FloridaBound16 Thank you! I will look into that. My freshman dorm was called Southgate too!
