FSU class of 2025 admission and decision discussion

Are there estimated financial aid notifications included with today’s decisions? I feel like I saw that somewhere.

I know that most merit will be available today (all except presidential I think), and I think it’s reasonable to believe that need-based aid will also be available.

Stats for summer are generally lower than fall

When they admit for summer:

  1. The student’s “stats” don’t affect the fall numbers, which are what rankings are based on.
  2. It’s a revenue stream. Penn State charges something like $7,000 for their summer program (includes room and board). FSU will charge less but it’s still extra $$.

Anyone know the average stats to be accepted for summer?

Mines just says “welcome” and her name

@beckfast
Scroll up a bit, someone posted a .pdf chart from last year with the stat breakdown. Very informative!

I didn’t see anything about summer term on there… Maybe those stats are averaged fall and summer? Or maybe I’m looking at the wrong PDF?

Summer GPA: 3.8 - 4.3
Fall GPA : 4.1 - 4.5
Summer SAT : 1190 - 1310
Fall SAT: 1290 - 1410
Summer ACT: 26 - 30
Fall ACT: 29 - 32

So if I have a 3.8, 29, good ECs, a strong upward trend on my transcript, and a good essay I should be good for summer? Trying to expect the worst (rejection) so I’m not disappointed, but my mind is all over the place!

I always want to be prepared, so anyone know how summer works with Benacquisto?

I’m OOS I’m not sure.

Sounds about right! You got this <3

Thank you!! Good luck & hopefully see you next year!

I’m OOS too, but Benacquisto still applies to OOS students.

Oh my bad I thought it was FL only. I still am not sure how it works though, sorry!

Haha, all good!

Latest portal update for those keeping track: the decision date box has returned, still indicating that decisions will be released in the “late afternoon.”

College rankings mostly use fall admit stats. Summer and other non-fall admission programs usually have slightly lower stats. See Northeastern NUIn program for example. Students admitted into that program start in the fall, but at a study-abroad campus-not the main campus.
