I was hoping to go to UCF’s engineering program; however, they do not have chemical engineering. I am looking into other schools, but I really want to be with my close friends. My only choices are UF and FSU; however, I am leaning towards FSU becasue of my friends. I know FSU’s engineering program is teamed with FAMU, but thats all I really know about it. Can anyone tell me more about FSU’s engineering program? Would you recommend it?

Thanks!!

I can’t say much about FSU’s engineering program; all I know is that I wasn’t too attracted at first glance (or at several following glances for that matter). I would like to say this though; don’t pick a school because your friends are going there. Picking a school for this reason brings along a high chance that you won’t like it there. Pick a school because YOU like it; in the long run, you’ll find that this is the place where you are truly happy. Something else I could say about FSU: they seem to be more focused on business and economic-type majors, and compared to UF, I think FSU’s pale. (Plus, I hear that UF has a new nuclear reactor just for engineering majors! Pretty exciting, if you ask me.) Check out the universities’ websites for more info. Call them too, I’m sure they’d be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
