DS22 got admitted to FSU Class of 2026. OOS. But in admission letter no mention of Major. He had applied to CS. When we called they said that means he will get to do CS. Is this how it is done at FSU? Dont want to risk going there and then finding out that he may not get to do CS after the 1st year coursework.
Early April was the target for notifications
March 9th was cutoff to update Grades and test scores
UF doesnât admit by major. They may be the same:
You must declare a major upon entering Florida State. If you have questions or need more information about the majors we offer, you should visit the Academic Program Guide website. Academic advisors are also available in every department to discuss requirements and answer your questions.
Son declared CS as Major when he applied. So there is a good chance that although he was admitted⊠he may not get to major in CS?
Read the paragraph I pulled from their website above - it sounds to me, other than limited majors which CS isnât, itâs assured.
But call the school again to triple check.
Yes. My son applied late December and was accepted on the 2/17 date. His portal said he would have a decision on 2/17 date shortly after applying.
Great! Congratulations to your son! My son is very happy and is planning to attend FSU this fall. We recently toured again and caught a basketball game - got to see the win over Notre Dame! Such a fun, vibrant campus and we had great weather, much better than the snow we just got in Western PA. Now we are hopeful for his friend to hear soon.
Where are most of the admitted students looking for roommates these days? FB or Instagram? My daughter is seeing multiple sites, so itâs difficult to tell which ones are legit. Some of the Instagram accounts charge a subscription fee to be âfeatured.â Is this a scam?
My daughter just got a notification in her portal and was accepted!
Congrats! Was this after she was deferred? Just curious as my DS was deferred in February.
Yes she was deferred on 2/17 and sent in the defferal reply form asap! Wishing you luck for your DS!
What major? Are you in state? Just curious what my DS chances are since we are OOS.
Her major is biological sciences and we are OOS. She had a 3.76 and a 1240 SAT but what I really think helped her was getting a 4.0 during her fall semester of dual enrollment that got her on the presidents list and also she is going to help with a research project with doctors at the University of Miami that she mentioned in her defferal reply form!
sheâs also a patient care technician and can work in the hospital when she graduates which she also mention which i think helped! I wish everyone the best!!!
My DS also just got into FSU.
My daughter was also accepted today.
ETA: She was deferred in February. OOS, biochem. This was a nice surprise as she wasnât expecting a decision for a couple more weeks. She did submit the Pathways app last week but shortly thereafter got a message saying that wouldnât be considered until after admissions made a decision on her application.
D considering FYA for 22-23. Any feedback on student transition to FSU as sophomores?
S21 is staying on campus for his sophomore year we are instate and had 2 years Florida Pre Paid Dorm. He is rooming with a friend from High School that is in Tally now
Most are staying off campus for sophomore year and are sharing apartments with friends they met in Italy or friends from High school
Does anyone know when FSU Regular Decision will be released?
Their website says admissions on a rolling basis beginning mid-April (for applications received after Nov 1).
