We visited in October and fell in love with FSU and Tally. Such a great, charming little city!
I see a lot of folks mentioning summer admission but my daughter didnât realize that was an option. Wondering if she missed something. Oh well, nothing we can do now! Good luck to everyone!
Admissions sent out an email around Thanksgiving saying that apps are way up and asking if the applicant would be interested in switching first entry point to summer. Apparently that would increase oneâs odds of admission. In the past summer admission would be another âpathwayâ to fall enrollment and now itâs a more prescribed entry point.
Ah! That explains it. I donât she submitted her application before Thanksgiving.
It is not a sure thing that requesting summer increases the odds of admission. Yes, they may accept lower stats, but they also accept fewer students. So itâs hard to predict!
So, if she didnât submit by the November 1 deadline, I donât think sheâll hear this week when most others will. But hopefully not too much longer!
Hey all - good luck!
S20 applied and was offered the OOS tuition waiver. . . . (but not there).
now my junior is considering it.When he applied it seemed like that OOS tuition waiver was for kids with an act of 31/32+ . I am wondering if that still holds true, or if that might rise?
I would so appreciate knowing how it all turns out for your kids; and it is so helpful for the 2023âs if you post stats too! fingers crossed!
Is there any chance that they get released early? My DDâs portal is now saying awaiting decision. Last week it said under review.
I wish i could help; but i do not know. I donât have a kid in this race this year. good luck.
Iâd say itâs highly unlikely that they will release decisions before February 17. But they donât commit to a time, so it technically could be anytime. But Iâd bet on late afternoon or early evening on the 17th.
I would not be surprised to see the OOS waiver ACT level rise to 32 or so. Seems like it has been at 31 for a few years, with ever-increasing applications and competitiveness. Hopefully those who get it, and those who just miss it, will report on this thread or others. But eventually FSU will announce it.
My DS applied 12/20 and about 2 weeks later there was a message in his portal that said his decision would be ready on 2/17, and it changed to awaiting decision,so I think some will get decisions then even if they didnât apply by 11/1
Last year at least one of my S21 friends that applied late still got their decision on the February date
Was it good news or bad newsâŠlol
What time on the 17th will we know ?? Thanks
I heard it is around 4 pm
Does anyone know if thereâs any portal astrology that helps indicate the decision for FSU?
That would be fun!
Also from Western PA and S21 is a freshman at FSU. Heâs really enjoying his time there. Heâs made friends and is active in clubs. Likes to explore. A car really helps. I would recommend the out of state mixer they have the first week. Heâs met several students from the area that go to FSU.
He wanted film but didnât get in. Instead they offered digital media, Honors and OOS tuition waiver. The visit sealed the deal. Penn State with palm trees.
I have yet to find anyone who went there who doesnât have fond memories. S20 at Georgia Tech visited at Halloween. His first comment almost in disbelief was âeveryone seems happyâ.
Admission, honors and waiver were all together in the portal last year. Good luck.
r we sure about the time?
