I read on another thread- 4pm ( assuming East Coast time)
Good Luck to everyone today
Was waiting with you last year and will be again next year
Just checked my kidâs portal. The status is gone (it had flipped to awaiting decision a few weeks back), as well as the message to check back on 2/17 for a decision. I guess they are working on loading stuff now.
On instagram : âŠadmission decisions will be released later this afternoon once students are out of school for the dayâŠ
No, major is not considered for general admission. For some majors, students also have to apply to that specific program.
Here are some FAQs.
This is interesting:
All accepted students were considered for an Admissions merit-based scholarship. Those who received a scholarship
were notified with their admission decision. Requirements for these scholarships change year-to-year based on the
accepted student profile, but generally students are expected to have at minimum all A and B grades with appropriate
rigor, a 4.0 FSU Core GPA, and a 31 ACT composite test score or 1390 total SAT score.
Same. My heart skipped a beat when I logged on and it said âWelcome xxxxâ at the top. For a second I thought it was her decision!!
75,000 applications! That is insane!
Unreal! Floridaâs population has grown rapidly. With the Bright Futures scholarship program incentivizing kids to stay in state, FL schools are receiving loads of applicants. It has driven the average test scores and GPA through the roof. Also add in OOS applicants looking to have a less restrictive college covid experience.
OMG, this does not bode well for my OOS daughter.
What a windfall for FSU in application fees, though. That ought to help fund their new business school building project!
HI! Just wondering why youâre expecting deferral. We are OOS, too. Trying to gauge what our expectations should be.
I just saw from a high school guidance counselor that OOS students make up 20% of acceptances. Thatâs really good!
SCHOLARSHIPS
IN STATE ($3,000 a year, on top of Bright Futures):
4.00+ FSU Core GPA
All A & B grades
31 ACT or 1390 SAT
OUT OF STATE (get instate tuition)
4.00+ FSU Core GPA
All A & B grades
32 ACT or 1420 SAT
@MrsRev - Thanks, that is great news about OOS percentage! Such a nervous OOS mom right nowâŠ
Are those the scholarship numbers for this yearâs acceptances? Someone had speculated that the cutoffs would rise due to increased applicants.
Those are the scholarship numbers I just heard from a high school counselor. Iâm sure weâll get something official soon.
mine said that earlier and now it is gone⊠hmmm
Ours is gone. Trying to read the tea leaves seems pointless. But was it Welcome to FSU or Welcome to your decision
Any insight on Presidential Scholars? lol⊠Youâre on a roll!!
i guess we will know soon! welcome to your rejection seems a little harsh haha
As they should, FSU focuses quite a bit on grades. My son has pretty strong rigor, especially in humanities and social science, but weighted GPA is 3.8. SAT is 1330 which is mid-point of admitted students. Eagle Scout, camp counselor for four years and some minimal work. Got into IU (pre-business) but not Wisconsin, Purdue (both engineering) and Tulane.
