My daughter did not get selected for an interview. What criteria do you think got you an interview? Very strong academics–top 9% of class, 31ACT, lots of leadership, etc.–got accepted to U of Texas @ Austin, but really wants to go to FSU for film.

. . . will have to decide if she wants to go to FSU without the film major for the first year, and then try with the interview again. Any thoughts?

Well …my daughter enrolled at FSU; reapplied to the Film Program; took 3 film classes; did a lot of volunteering within the department, and then decided…she no longer wants to go into film!!! Life lesson~when your kid ‘thinks’ they have a passion for something, the wind may blow, and then it could be something else entirely different!

Now, she says she misses not taking math classes, and is venturing into engineering, or possibly marketing, and she also wants to write~~~yep, she’s all over the board!!

She is absolutely in love with Florida State so she will not be rushing home to NY any time soon to persue another school! She knew at the moment when the call came in for her to volunteer while the FSU vs. UofMiami was playing, that film was not her passion after all!! I even asked her tonight if she missed not having a video camera in her hand, and she said…not really! And this kid has been filming since she was 8 years old!

Son was notified through email yesterday, as was a friend of his. I do not know if they notify you if you don’t get interview. I believe you can call the film office, and they will let you know.

I have my interview for the same animation and digital arts program on the 15th. When I was confirming my spot, they told me that we were going to do a photography exercise. Did they have you do that and if so what exactly did they have you do?
