<p>...In a unique partnership between FSU's highly regarded film school and the private, for-profit Digital Domain Institute, FSU's announcement represents a tenfold increase from the commitment it made last year, when Digital Domain announced plans to open a teaching institution in West Palm Beach.</p>
<p>At a news conference Monday, FSU and Digital Domain are scheduled to announce that their partnership goes beyond the originally envisioned concept of a curriculum drawn up by FSU to one in which FSU will offer a dual-*enrollment degree program with Digital Domain, giving film students hands-on experience with big-budget motion pictures. Among its most recent pictures, Digital Domain did the special effects for Disney's Tron: Legacy.</p>
<p>The city has tied itself closely to the success of Digital Domain, donating a prominent 2.4-acre site at Okeechobee Boulevard and Dixie Highway and offering a $10 million grant and $15 million loan.</p>
<p>Gov. Rick Scott, who was invited to Monday's news conference but is unlikely to attend, is especially interested in the project because it will create job-ready young professionals, said Digital Domain Chairman John Textor, a Palm Beach County native who bought the California-based film studio in 2007....
