FSU was in the top 10 of the standings throughout the fall sports season. After coming in at No. 4 in the Cup standings that were announced before the bowl season began, the Seminoles shot up to No. 2 in the latest standings.

FSU received 351 points. Stanford finished first in the fall season, leading all schools with 382 points.

Each school year, the Directors Cup goes to the institution that has the best overall athletic performance by its teams.

^Unfortunately, no it will not. Stanford has won the Director’s Cup 17 years in a row, and that will not change soon. The Director’s cup only counts a school’s top 10 men’s and top 10 women’s sports. Stanford has 34 total sports, which allows them to cherry pick their top sports.

Coming in 2nd is an amazing accomplishment for us, and I’d say it’s more impressive than Stanford being 1st.

I didn’t mean like this week! Technically Stanford is 1st now in the Director’s Cup ranking, but FSU is #1 with me. FSU athletics is representing well!

Unfortunately, FSU won’t be ranked just yet. Having 6 losses is just too many to be among the top 25. If we keep winning, and don’t add any in the loss column, we may have a shot if other teams add some losses to their stats.

The win over UNC was great and everything, but it’s not going to make or break either team.
FSU already has 6 losses- 3 of which really don’t help our team (Harvard, Princeton, and Clemson). The other 3 losses (UConn, Michigan State and Florida) are losses that were “expected” in that FSU was the underdog and lost.
Our team also has been (as commented on during the game by ESPN) Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde this season. Our team at times can play amazingly great (the win on Saturday) or amazingly bad (Harvard, Princeton or Clemson).
