Hi, I’m an Asian male living in Washington, WA.

I’m wondering what you think my chances are in getting into FSU(Florida State University), and if it’s likely that I get in, what are my chances of getting a out-of-state tuition waiver.

My Stats Are:

GPA(uw): 3.90
GPA(w): 4.27

SAT Score: 1570/1600

Extracurriculars:

JV Tennis(freshman year)
Varsity Tennis(sophomore - senior year)
Model UN(junior-senior year)
Community Service: 80+ hours

Awards:
Second Place in regional solo instrument competition for instrument.

AP Scores:

Environmental Science: 5
AP Physics 1: 4
AP Lang: 4
AP World: 5
AP US History: 5
AP Calc AB: 5
AP Lit: 5

So if you base your GPA on +.5 Honors and 1 for AP, you’re a bit light - but your SAT is strong.

I suspect you’d get in and get the waiver - but entry isn’t assured.

Make sure you have others just in case.

No C’s on your transcript was a requirement when my S21 got the OOS waiver. Otherwise your stats should be competitive.

Also, my son mentioned they’ve doubled the size of the Honors program or at least they’re admitting more Honors students. They have a new program director.
