FSU Football - Florida State's Return

Nice article about Florida State's football resurgence.

I suspect applications for undergraduate studies will
increase. Accept rates will drop some with GPA’s and
SAT’s increasing. Good!

So I purchased the Seminole Student Booster thingy, any ideas how I will get the tickets for the game?

My son received this email from the ticket office yesterday-

We just wanted to send you a quick reminder that this Sunday at 5 pm the ordering process will begin for the home opener against Louisiana-Monroe. (If you have already registered as a Student Booster you do not need to do anything else, unless you need to order guest tickets or sit in a group.)

Make sure you order your ticket for the game and come out early to support your Noles!!

Your ticket will be emailed to you by 5 pm Thursday.

GO NOLES!!

If you paid the small fee to be a Student Booster, you do not have to sign in or do anything on Sunday. Your ticket will automatically be emailed to you during the week, and you are guaranteed a seat. Each week there is a game, you get an email with a ticket to print. Sign in to activate your regular student ticket account if you want to order guest tickets or if you have a group number and want to sit with a group.

David, I agree. The FTIC stats are already at an all-time high.

See:[The Florida State University](<a href=“Florida State University”>Florida State University)

P2N-- Yes, FTIC numbers on the rise are great. A clean, winning
football team (plus baseball and basketball) will drive up pressure
for an admit - all being good in my mind for FSU. Emphasis CLEAN.

Best is that the value of the degree on the national market climbs
as well. Graduates get their $'s worth and efforts worth!!

Just my .02 David

ps-- maybe an AAU invite down the way just abit.

Anyone know when the ticket office is going to email out student football tickets for this Saturday’s game? I ordered online Sunday p.m. but haven’t heard anything yet other than getting an email acknowledgement from them right away for my order.

Student Boosters are getting them Thursday by 5PM.

We received the extra FSU vs Oklahoma tickets we bought on Wednesday.

Student section tickets were all gone by Monday or Tuesday for this week’s home opener. GREAT JOB STUDENTS! Students got their email tickets yesterday. Lots going on downtown tonight, with Downtown Get Down, First Friday, and the Friday Night Block Party. Don’t see what you want, walk a few blocks.

I will not be in town for this weekend’s festivities. I wish. Labor day should be spent with family and football. But I will be there for Oklahoma!

According to below news story, FSU is forming a committee to explore options for FSU and possible athletic conference realignments including FSU moving from ACC. Seems everyone is talking, but no one is talking!

[FSU preparing for realignment possibilities, such as moving to SEC or welcoming Texas into ACC](http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/seminoles/fsu-preparing-for-realignment-possibilities-such-as-moving-1855047.html)

Get Texas to join the ACC!! I know they come with baggage (ie the longhorn network), but academically the are a GREAT FIT. I do not want to see FSU go to the SEC. Great for football, not great for EVERYTHING ELSE including basketball, baseball, academics…

FSU is a natural fit for the SEC. I agree that their academics aren’t quite up to par in comparison with the ACC, but what effect does that have on FSU? It’s not like FSU will be looked upon as inferior academically because it moved to the SEC, and it’s not like anyone looks at us as more superior because we’re in the ACC.

We’d have more exciting matchups in football, which would result in higher attendance… plus the revenue generated per team in the SEC blows away that of the ACC, and will only continue to increase with every new contract.

ACC Basketball has struggled the last few years, and while I agree it’s still better than the SEC, it’s not enough to justify staying in the ACC.

An ACC team has never won a baseball national championship. The SEC has the last two baseball national champions, and is about par with the ACC as far as level of competition.

If we get an invite to the SEC, I think we have to take it.

Kids-- Stay away from Texas. Yes, a fine highly ranked Public. From the
Athletic Dept and “GIANT EGO” perspective they are trouble!! Nebraska is
thrilled to have found a fabulous home in the B1G (that’s the B10 or for the
southerners “the Big 1”), Colorado has a fine new home in the PAC12 and
yes, Texas A&M looks like a fine addition to the SEC. Any major Institution in
the current Big12 who can get away from the giant sucking ego of the University
of Texas is doing so. Texas is shopping itself for the next conference it will
fail to play fair with. They want it ALL their way.

I hope they go “independent” and play Notre Dame on a home and home basis
2 x 6 times per year. As an individual with 3 degrees from Northwestern and
a huge B1G fan— I just hope our B1G, built on academics, athletics and
BRICK stays away from Texas. Remember-- it’s all about Texas!!! Good Luck.

.02 David

Oh, by the way, Oklahoma ( with their buddy Okie State) is/are in
deep negotiations with the PAC12 for a move. If you get a chance, this
weekend chat about conference realignment with a few of the
University of Oklahoma faithful in Talley. Ask these folks about UT ego,
the “Longhorn Network” and conference realignment. Run baby, run!

FWIW- the ACC does not need the University of Texas.

Just my .02 David

Would love to see FSU in the SEC. I’m a parent of an alum, and they would get to play my Vols (I assume) and get to nearby College Station for the Aggies once in a while (I assume). Texas seems to be doing fine with their own TV network. Certainly popular around here!

Yep, Bevo Network is great. Go for it. It will fit just great
into the ACC footprint. LOL David

I’m feeling a vibe that FSU is pretty much set to go in the SEC. I think this committee being formed is just window dressing and that the real FSU movers and shakers have a deal in their hip pocket already, or at least an A, B and C plan for conference affiliation with SEC the A plan. The committee is just to have people to line up for photos behind President Barron, the AD, and the Trustee Chairman when SEC deal is announced from podium. The committee deal is just to make it look like everyone in FSU community was behind decision. Anyway, this whole conference realignment thing is crazy–there’s lots of money at stake.

Not as easy as you think, and UF is still working vigorously behind the scenes to keep FSU out of the SEC. And for every fan adamant that FSU belongs in the SEC is one that is vehemently opposed. It is not a slam dunk.
