FSU honors vs UF honors

I am either going to major in history or museum studies. I heard that UF usually gets more respect, but FSU honors seemed to offer much more than UF honors. Does anybody know which one would be better for someone who wants to have a career at a musuem? Also, which school has the better study abroad program?

UF is a higher ranked university nationally, but FSU holds its ground quite well. It really depends on your major and which environment you prefer (UF is a little more fluid and cutthroat whereas FSU is more static and laid-back). FSU also has a prettier campus but, in my view, I’m not there for the campus, I’m there for academics (UF has a better science program and I am an intended Biochem major). Tally is so quaint though…so it just depends on the mood you want.
Both FSU/UF Honors are introductory programs and only cover the first 2 years of courses. Afterwards, you will be in your 3-4000 level classes with “regular” students.
Both Hume (UF Honors program students stay here) and Gilcrist (FSU honors students’ dorms) are “nerdy” if that’s your thing.
Hope that helps a little :)

^ there are 3000 level honors courses btw. I don’t know anything about 4000s though.

Also, Landis is more of the honors dorm at FSU. Gilchrist is where the other honors students go if there’s no more room, but regular students can also room there.

Oh and since you’re interested in studying abroad, you might consider this: http://honors.fsu.edu/scholarships.html

But look at the different studying abroad locations for both UF: http://www.abroad.ufic.ufl.edu/ and FSU: <a href=“FSU International Programs 404”>https://international.fsu.edu/

It wouldn’t surprise me that there would be 3000-level courses. Some students klep out of 1000-levels by means of AP testing. Overall, however, on both website and representation at the school, the honors programs are introductory. :)

Introductions can be everything. ;)
