Jman is trying to convey the message that since pretty much all schools in Florida are ranked below comparable peers, it doesn’t matter that FSU is significantly worse than UF.

A rather dubious approach to bolstering FSU.

and the plot thickens

keep up the good, constructive work, intangiblegator. you’re doing a fantastic job. ;)

In what national ranking do you think florida will be in 5 years from now? ima say 20th something but who knows?

^^^LMAO. Really?!! I hope this post was meant to be sarcastic. Maybe 20th public. The term “delusions of grandeur” comes to mind when reading through this thread.

20th is way too high. Maybe 40 at best in 5 years.

Its 49th now

and you think the schools ahead of UF in these pointless rankings aren’t going to keep their rankings up?
UF will not break top 40 in the next five years, if ever

Joker, UC Berkeley can’t even crack the top 20 with over 60 Nobel Prizes affiliated with it (hell, it even has its own element on the periodic table: Berkelium). US News does not like public schools.

You’re kidding right. Or is this another example of ■■■■■■■■?

Jman is exactly right. Both schools are nothing special in the grand scheme of things, unless you plan on working in FL and/or the South for a good part of your life. They’re regional state colleges with limited national reach and prestige. UF has the overall edge academically, and perhaps has more regional prestige, but the fact of the matter is that the vast majority of grads from either school are going to end up working mostly the same jobs in the same FL cities and within the same professional networks. Get over yourself. The only school in FL I would label even close to national is UM, and that’s only because of its NYC/Northeastern connections. Even then, it’s a reach.

And please, FSU isn’t ‘significantly’ worse. UNF is significantly worse. FGCU is significantly worse. We’re talking about the #1 and 2 schools in the state here. I realize you’re still in high school and are probably a bit naive and too heavily influenced from all the Gator propaganda, but wait till you hit the real world and actually gain some perspective.

I mean I still can’t get over the fact that you actually think UF is significantly better than FSU. You really were just trying to rile things up around here, right? I sincerely hope you were just trash-talking (which there’s nothing wrong with, so long as its within reason and you don’t take it too seriously). If it was true, I’d agree 100% and leave it at that - not going to deny something that is obvious. But c’mon that’s more than a bit of a stretch.
