Hi I'm majoring in English/creative writing and have recently been accepted to fsu and Flagler. They both require a response on whether I am attending there or not, yet I haven't made any decision. I was accepted to uf as well, but from what I hear they are mainly focused on the sciences. So, my main concern is fsu for Flagler?

Imo, it depends on you. What type of environment do you want to be in? Rural or urban? If Urban, FSU is the way to go from what I’ve seen and heard. UF is in Gainesville, and is known to be in a college town. Both are serious about football also. Idk much about Flagler, except that I was told they are most known for their business and law iirc. To me, unless you want a small school, take Flagler off and decide between FSU and UF.

IF it was me, I’d go with FSU because I have also heard several times that they are better than UF in liberal arts.

You know you have until May 1st to decide? The first question you should ask yourself is, are both options financially viable. If one is, while the other isn’t, fantastic, you’ve just chosen your school.

If both are, then visit the schools, ask about their english/creative writing programs (most importantly, ask about the class sizes for non intro english/creative writing classes), consider whether you’d be more comfortable in a LAC or major research university, and think about whether you’d rather live in St. Augustine or Tallahassee.

If both aren’t affordable, start looking for financial safeties.

Please be careful about Flagler. It is cheap and beautiful but this blew me away: [College Education Value Rankings - PayScale 2012 College ROI Report](College Education Value Rankings - PayScale 2013 College ROI Report)
UF is listed at 138 (very good)
FSU at 400 (good)
Flagler at 1,231 (terrible)
Also, the 4 year graduation rate for a private school of 47% (UCAN network) is abysmal.

Bit confused…accepted for next year at UF? You wouldn’t know until at least Feb 2013.

Yeah because of the deadlines I kinda just assumed they probably were like a transfer…

Yeah, I’m a transfer student. So, I got my responses early on.
