FSU Orientation

When is the best time me for time to sign up for Fall Orientation? There are only dates in June. Does going earlier better my chances of getting into the classes I register for? Im not in honors (yet :-P). Also, how do I get credits for the AP Exams that I pass this year when orientation is in June and my scores come out in July. Im hoping to test out of two semesters of English and Calc I. and (hopefully, by the grace of god) a semester or two of Chemistry. Thanks :-P

May orientations are for those who start in Summer. When you go to orientation, you will plan a schedule based on the AP credit you think you will have. About the SAME TIME the AP scores come out, the window for fall registration opens up. So you can rearrange your schedule if you need to.

They have all sorts of sections of freshman gen ed requirement classes that they HOLD and open on a rolling basis for orientations. Early June may not be better than late June.

For Chem you might grab a section of Chem I and Chem lab in case. Then if you don’t need it and just need Chem II you can add that when the registration opens up in July.

If you think you will get credit for ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 then just don’t register for any ENC classes. You can always pick up ENC 1102 or similar if you need it. And register for Calc II if you will be advancing in Math.

The open window for registration in July will be perfect for fine tuning your schedule. AND, Add/drop opens AGAIN the Saturday before classes start on Monday for last minute tweaks. You will be fine. And they are used to students who will not get AP credit until July.
