What are the retake/grade forgiveness policies. I may make a D in one of my dual enrollment classes (Calc I) and I would have to retake it at FSU. What is the policy on retakes? As in how many times can you take a class etc.

I’m not sure, but you might want to try to get it to a C so you’re not rescinded even if you do want to retake it again at FSU.

I already spoke with admissions and they assured me that as long as none of my other grades didn’t show a downward “trend” then I would be ok for this one class.

Since you were not enrolled at FSU when you took it the first time, you can retake. The D will be part of your overall GPA but not part of your FSU GPA.

^That is the general policy for all classes. Grade Forgiveness does not exist at FSU. If you get below a C- in a given class, you can retake it. Both grades count towards your GPA; you only get credit once.

^ As in the two grades will be averaged together?

No, the two grades both appear on the transcript and are part of the overall average, with credit only for one of them. They take your total hours and all your grades for your GPA. Both classes of the same subject repeated are all there with all other grades. Then they subtract the hours for courses repeated. But every course you take that is not dropped before the drop date is on your transcript. No forgiveness classes. You do have the ability to withdraw after the drop period twice for lower level classes and once for upper level classes with the dean’s permission, but the W and the grade (WD or WF) does show on the transcript, but the grade is dropped from your GPA. The drop period is all the way to the 7 week mark, and the deans permission drop can be used between week 7 and 12.
