Hello all,
I’ve been browsing and noticed some of you guys are also curious about transferring into FSU so I thought I’d just organize it and we can throw our questions/stats into here
I’ll start with me:
So I’m a freshman at UCF this Fall and I got into FSU as a senior but decided to go to UCF because they gave me money and FSU did not. Needless to say, as you can tell by the title, I really, really regret this decision. No spite at UCF, it just isn’t what I was expecting nor is it a place where I think I can get what I want out of college, so I’m looking to transfer for the spring at FSU. I’m looking to transfer into the CS program which I’ve heard is limited-access. I’ve already submitted all my documents, and was wondering if some of you could chance me? I know I already got in for the fall but I’m a little nervous…
High school GPA: 3.7/4.2 (on a 4.0 weighted scale) went to a pretty decent private school idk if that changes anything
College GPA: N/A (3.8+ hopefully)
AP’s: 5 taken, 3 passed
Current Schedule: Calc I, Intro to programming with C, Comp I, & Fundamentals to Tech. Presentations (13 credits)
SAT: 1320
ACT: N/A
Once you’re a college student, anything from your High School is pretty much irrelevant. What matters is your college GPA and what’s on your transcripts. Follow what is required to transfer to the Computer Science program in the College of Arts and Science and you’ll be fine.
@nameofscreen Hey did you get in? What is it that you don’t like about ucf? I think your stats are pretty good. But what might work against you is that you don’t have your AA. Anyways good luck lol.
Not true that once you are a college student high school is irrelevant. If you have less than 60 hours they request high school transcript and SAT/ACT test scores.
Freshman and sophomore applicants (12-59 semester hours of transferable credit as determined by the Office of Admissions) must:
have a strong academic high school profile that is indicative of success at the college level. Very few students with less than a 3.0 academic GPA will be admissible.
have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on all attempted college courses. In calculating your GPA, we use all attempted courses (including D’s, F’s, and WF’s) from every college you have attended. If a course is repeated, we will use both grades.
NOTE: The best indication of your potential academic success at Florida State University is your calculated transfer GPA. Very few students with less than a 3.0 calculated GPA will be admitted.
be in good academic standing and have at least a 2.0 calculated GPA on all work attempted at your last institution.
Other factors taken into consideration when transferring as a lower-division transfer student include the number of hours taken each semester (we prefer 15 each fall and spring semester), the types of college classes taken each term, and the grades earned in those classes.
