I am currently a student at Florida State University. I am a sophomore, and I have a 3.70 GPA (Finance Major). I am looking to transfer in for the Fall of 2015. I will have all of my prerequisites completed, and I will have 61 credit hours.

Does the Heavener School of Business accept Finance major transfers? If so, what is the process like?

How can I best go about increasing my chances of acceptance?

When applying as a transfer to UF (Heavener), any major other than BABA-General Studies, is very competitive. For Fall 2015, you’ll need to apply by April 1, 2015. Because the application process is extremely competitive, most decisions will not be made until the end of May for Fall admission.

Hi, thanks for your response. By the time I would apply, I would have completed all seven prerequisites. Would that help my chances? Also, let’s assume my GPA does not change, what would my chances be with a 3.70?

It really depends on the pool of applicants and the amount of spots the have open. I haven’t really heard how competitive admissions to their Finance major is, but you should be fine if it’s like the rest of the business school’s majors. I am not saying it’s a cake walk, but seeing as your overall GPA is 0.7 above their requirement it should be no issue. Also, make sure your pre-req GPA is above a 3.5 ( the higher the better) or it’s an automatic rejection.

Im also applying for finance and am a sophomore. I have a 4.0 GPA for both my total GPA and pre-requisite. Ive been told I still am not a shoe in, so it really worries me about what more I can do
