FSU v. UCF for political science

I have been accepted into both UCF and FSU, and I plan on majoring in political science. However, I am not sure which one I should attend :frowning: I like UCF’s campus a lot better, I love Orlando and I feel like there is much more to do in Orlando than there is in Tallahassee. FSU’s political science program is far better than UCF’s but I’m not sure that I would like the campus and the environment there. I NEED SUGGESTIONS, which college should I attend

Are finances a factor?

Well UCF gave me a $10k scholarship while FSU did not give me anything, but luckily I can afford either school so I’m just not sure what I should focus on: educational quality for my major or my preferences

So, you have a $10K scholarship to the college you prefer environment-wise. Are you planning to go to grad school?

And how do you know that FSU’s PolSci program is better? Is it ranked higher?

With this information, I’d pick UCF. Tallahassee might have more internship opportunities if you are interested in state politics, but UCF should have just as many in other areas. You also might get better course selection if everyone is going to FSU to get those statehouse internships.

Go where you like it best.

I am planning on going to grad school, and FSU is ranked 40 while UCF is unranked in political science, hence my struggle

In that case, you might want to go to the college you feel most comfortable with. Really, it will be your grad school that people will care about in the long run, not your undergraduate, so don’t worry about the rankings too much.

By the way, where was it that you found schools ranked by degree field?

Did you pick a school? This is my same exact dilemma! Loved the ucf campus but I know the poli sci program is much better at fsu
